There are far too many incredibly entertaining moments in Guardians of the Galaxy to list here, but certainly one that tops the list is what could be called the mid-credits sequence. Featuring no dialogue, the scene is set in the belly of Star-Lord's ship The Milano and finds potted baby Groot sitting on a table next to Drax, who is focusing on cleaning one of his daggers. The sound of the insanely catchy "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5 is piped in, and slowly but surely baby Groot starts to dance. It's a moment that makes you both laugh and go "aww," and now you can watch it over and over until the end of time.<br /> <br />Marvel Studios and Disney have officially released the clip of dancing Groot fromGuardians of the Galaxy. As you probably noticed watching the video in the embed above, the scene only runs about 39 seconds long, but the good news is that Yahoo!also posted the huge gif you see below. Just start playing the song and start staring at it for a few minutes. I guarantee that it will lighten your day:<br /><br />In this scene, Groot is recovering after having been shattered into a million pieces trying to save his Guardians of the Galaxy feam-mates, but it looks like getting the chance to grow up again isn't doing much to disturb his generally sunny disposition. The even better news is that it probably won't be long until Groot grows to his full size - his regenerative powers are off the charts - and he will once again be at full power to help protect his heroic brothers and sister and fight against any and all threats against the cosmos.<br /> <br />If you want to see the other end credits sequence that everybody has been talking about, you'll have to go see Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters. The movie is continuing to do big business both domestically and aboard, so far bringing in $330 million internationally. This weekend it will not only be contending with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but also newcomers The Expendables 3, Let's Be Cops and more. What will you be seeing?

2016's King Arthur is taking shape under the leadership of director Guy Ritchie. It's the first of multiple films in a proposed trilogy, so for the lead role, they'll need someone strong, masculine, and compelling - someone who audiences will want to see again and again. So how about someone kinky as well?<br />
 <br />The Sun (via The Daily Mail) is claiming that Jamie Dornan is Guy Ritchie's top choice to star as the titular character King Arthur. You don't know Dornan yet, though he's about to blow up as the star of Fifty Shades Of Grey. As the extremely handsome and wealthy BDSM playboy Christian Grey, Dornan is Universal's choice to steam up screens for the next couple of years in a Fifty Shades Of Grey series. Would that be a problem if he's going to be doing multiple King Arthur adventures as well? (that's a bigif.)<br />Sources claims that interest in the role between the Warner Bros. and Dornan is mutual, with the actor eager to diversify - lest he become Christian Grey forever. But Universal might feel that King Arthur could overshadow Dornan's interests and priorities, sinceFifty Shades Of Grey is the sort of contract one might seek to escape. If reports are to be believed, the studios are hammering out some sort of agreement, but Warner Bros. doesn't want to commit just yet and Universal is reluctant to part with him.<br />50 Shades of Grey has both career-defining and career-destroying potential for everyone involved. On the page, the character has generated his own share of controversy. Fans find Grey's masculinity powerful, and his overwhelming, all-encompassing seduction of Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson in the movie) to be a show of old-school masculinity and a mastery of power dynamics. Detractors believe he's a sadistic, manipulative creep who doesn't take mutual consent seriously. Of course, Dornan doesn't have to worry about those who hate the character already: it's the superfans who are demanding 100% fidelity to the source, and who will be let down by anyone who isn't the dream man of their fantasies. Or maybe we're all lying about this and we're hate-watching this movie just as we've hate-read the books. They are really terrible.<br />It's a little early to say whether Jamie Dornan is suited to play King Arthur, but he's young enough to grow into the role and assume his title in a multi-film franchise. Universal is gambling several millions into the belief that audiences will respond to Dornan. But, being a major adventure movie tentpole, Warner Bros. would be gambling HUNDREDS of millions on Dornan's appeal. That's the thing about sequels then and now. Back then, you could recast and keep going. Today, continuity is going to force you to stick with the leading man you've cast. Could that be Dornan? King Arthur, with or without the 50 Shades of Grey star, hits theaters July 22nd, 2016. <br />

Warner Bros. seems pretty serious about being in the Dwayne Johnson business. The rumors continue to circulate that he's getting involved in the world of DC with Shazam, but he's already attached to a WB franchise. A couple of years ago, he assumed the lead role in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, bogarting the franchise from Brendan Fraser. Now the studio's interested in making another Journey, but they're going to have to adjust course: it looks like it's going to be TWO more Journeys. <br /><br />The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Chad and Cary Hayes have been hired to write the third and fourth installments in the Journey series. The Hayes siblings recently earned their reputation from penning The Conjuring. Surely Johnson noticed, as he is starring in their most recent script, San Andreas 3D. The hiring of the Hayes siblings suggests an effort to appeal to Johnson more directly, particularly considering two more movies (apparently being shot back-to-back) is a major commitment for the busy superstar. It also means goodbye to another writing team, Brian and Mark Gunn, who wrote the second film and were previously enlisted to pen part three. What is up with this franchise and brothers? <br /><br />Journey 2: The Mysterious Island was a surprise hit in 2012, grossing $335 million worldwide. That was higher than the $241 million brought in by the Johnson-lessJourney To The Center Of The Earth, which starred Brendan Fraser. Fraser was playing the uncle to Josh Hutcherson's character, while Johnson was the new stepfather – given that Hutcherson will be back for his third go-round, maybe Fraser, who has been out of the spotlight, can return? Surely that would excite someone, right? These movies are pretty popular, but people aren't exactly running around quoting lines of dialogue from the "saga." It's believed that Brad Peyton would return from directing the second one, particularly considering Peyton is also currently directing San Andreas 3D.<br /><br />Johnson's a hard man to lock up, particularly considering several of the franchises of which he's involved are in flux. Technically he's set to return for G.I. Joe 3, but that remains in the development stage. And there hasn't been a word about spinning off his character from the Fast And Furious movies, despite that being a hot rumor awhile back. THR also reports that he's attached to Seal Team 666, again with the Hayes brothers writing. It might be the case that whomever finishes a script first is going to get him onboard. You're on the clock, Hayes brothers.

On the list of "shoulda-been-Expendables," Jackie Chan ranks pretty highly. He's one of the more highly-decorated members of the Action Hero Hall Of Fame, and he's done movies with several of the people in The Expendables 3, including Sylvester Stallone (Burn, Hollywood Burn: An Alan Smithee Film), Arnold Schwarzenegger (Around The World In 80 Days) and Jet Li (Forbidden Kingdom). So why hasn't he got the call to show up in any of the movies in the trilogy? Perhaps the better question is, why hasn't he answered the call? <br /><br />In an interview with Den Of Geek, Chan claims that while he's obviously being sought for Expendables 4, he's simply not a fan of the format of these films.<br /><br />"...this morning I did hear - the office called - Sly [Stallone] wants me for Expendables 4. I said, ‘Okay.’ Because they already asked me to be in two and three, but I refused. Well, I didn’t refuse, but I said, ‘Sly, can’t we just do you and me? Not just a bunch of people and me only coming out for five minutes.’ Because then the audience is, ‘Oh!’ And then I’m gone."<br /><br />These movies so far have been overstuffed to the point of parody. The latest film tries to find space for two full Expendables teams, reducing Jet Li to a tiny cameo and four spoken lines, and he doesn't even throw any kicks. And Wesley Snipes seems like a selling point for the new movie, but after a major break-in that frees him, he and the rest of the Expendables are (temporarily!) fired and replaced by the new crew. It's gimmicky because every new actor gets a big introductory scene, and we're supposed to act like its an event because its a certain actor, not because it's an interesting character or because something exciting will happen. <br /><br />Stallone and Chan are reportedly good buddies, to the point where even in the nineties he was trying to get the star to come to America for Demolition Man. Chan has been reluctant, not only because of the quality of the roles and the inadequacy of the American stunt teams, but because it's a very big commitment for him to leave home. He's already talked about how the Rush Hour films were a chore and he's gone on record having difficulty with English. Chan's a fairly reserved, personal guy, and in a foreign land, speaking a foreign tongue, certain personalities can feel alienated. <br /><br />Chan also mentions that he's been talking to people about Shanghai Dawn, the sequel to Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights – at least that film would involve him doing some martial arts and having a good time. From what I hear, The Expendables sets are pretty basic, serious, low-key affairs where everyone keeps to themselves, particularly all the supposedly "bigger" personalities. Maybe they should just let Chan direct an Expendables 4 with a much smaller cast, and just please everyone?

Ubisoft Creative Director discusses some of the fundamental gameplay changes coming to Assassin's Creed Unity.<br />Assassin's Creed parkour, stealth, and traversal mechanics have all been "completely rebuilt" for the upcoming Assassin's Creed Unity, Ubisoft has said.<br />The Assassin's Creed series has seen a lot of changes since it first launched in 2007, including different eras, protagonists, and a whole arsenal of gadgets and weapons. But it many ways it never changed. If you've played through all or just a few of the games, you know that the way your character moves, climbs, and jumps around rooftops largely looks and feels the same.<br />That will not be the case with Unity. In the video above, Ubisoft Creative Director Alex Amancio discusses some of these changes and how they focus on allowing the player more freedom of movement. The most significant one in my opinion is the new ability to "parkour down." One thing that's always been confusing (and slightly annoying) about the Assassin's Creed games is that it's easier to climb up than climb down. A leap of faith into a haystack will get you to the bottom in a second, but climbing down otherwise is a clumsy process of letting go and grabbing ledges before you fall too far and take damage.<br />In Unity, you can also input control down in order to descend a building smoothly. You can see an example of this in the video around the 1:24. It looks like a big improvement.<br />Amancio also said that Unity will add multiple stances to the game, allowing players to crouch and go into stealth mode, and a new "AI camera," which can intelligently detect different parameters and adapt to your actions.<br />Assassin's Creed Unity launches on October 28 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. "We know this response will not please everyone."<br />If you already own Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light for the PC you might be wondering why developer 4A Games isn't offering the Redux versions of the games for free, especially since the latter came out just a little over a year ago.<br />The short answer is that 4A has put a ton of work into the Redux versions of the games, which significantly improve both their gameplay and graphics.<br />"Almost the entire team of around 80 people at 4A Games will have been working on the Metro Redux titles for almost a year by the time we release next month," 4A said in a post to Metro 2033 Redux's Steam Community page.<br />As illustrated clearly by a recent comparison video, it has been a substantial project for 4A, with the main goals of significantly updating the 4A Engine, updating both games to run on it, and adding a host of new gameplay features and content.<br />4A admits that the Metro 2033 Redux, which came out in 2010, is a far more significant upgrade over the original than Metro: Last Light Redux. However, 4A thinks that offering the Redux versions of the game for a 50 percent discount if you already own the originals is a fair deal. It said it considered other deals, like offering a 75 percent discount on Metro: Last Light Redux if you bought the DLC, but that this raised a number of practical and logistical challenges. Patching the games was also impossible for technical reasons (changes in the Redux versions required dropping 32-bit support).<br />"We know this response will not please everyone," 4A said. "But even though you still might not agree with the rationale, we do hope you understand that our goal was to reward, not exploit, existing owners while still making a viable business model that allowed this Redux project to go ahead on PC as well as console."<br />The 50 percent discount, which takes the price of each Redux version of the down from $25 to $12.50, is available only to those who bought the game for PC. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the games will be sold for $25 each or as $50 bundle.<br />Metro Redux launches on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 26.<br />What are the Redux versions of the Metro games worth to you? Rise of the Tomb Raider will use a much more detailed motion capture technology than the one used in the previous Tomb Raider.

The news comes from voice actress Camilla Luddington, who plays Lara Croft in the most recent iteration of the long running franchise.

As she explained on her Twitter account, whereas normal motion capture uses dots placed on the actor's face for points of reference (about 90 points, according to Luddington), Mova, a performance facial capture company for feature film and games, uses a fluorescent paint that is sprayed all over, resulting in more than 7000 points of reference.

This allows for a much more realistic capture, Luddington says, and can conveniently also only be seen under a blacklight.

Square Enix and developer Crystal Dynamics announced Rise of the Tomb Raider during the Microsoft E3 2014 press conference. We don't know much about the game at this point other than the fact that it'll be on Xbox One, it's a direct sequel to the previous Tomb Raider game, and it's coming "holiday 2015."

But there will inevitably be someone who will absolutely master a game, and Pro Skater 2 is no exception. YouTube user GeorgeThePlushie has just posted a speedrun of the game, and it's almost unbelievable.<br /><br />He managed to beat Pro Skater 2 in 3 minutes and 26 seconds, making it through the objectives and the levels at an absolutely blistering pace. To score high enough to complete the score-based goals, he continually jumps and does tricks as he rides through the level. Almost more impressive than the way he plays, though, is the way he navigates through the menus. It's so quick and efficient that it's difficult to follow what's going on.<br /><br />The speedrunner does utilize glitches in maps and he clips through some walls, but that doesn't take away from how impressive this run is.<br /><br />Have you ever attempted a speedrun like this? Blizzard to officially announce street-date for upcoming World of Warcraft expansion on August 14.<br />During a special event in Los Angeles next week, Blizzard Entertainment will announce the release date forWarlords of Draenor, the latest expansion for genre-defining MMO World of Warcraft. The event will take place Thursday, August 14 at 9:30 AM PDT and you can watch it live online or in-person, Blizzard said todayin an announcement on its website. We know Warlords of Draenor will be out by the end of the year, but the official release date remains under wraps.<br /><br />In addition to the release date for Warlords of Draenor, Blizzard will premiere the expansion's cinematic during the event. Blizzard executives Mike Morhaime (CEO) and Chris Metzen (SVP of creative development), along with World of Warcraft designers Ion Hazzikostas and Brian Holinka, will attend the event, where they will talk about the upcoming expansion.<br /><br />On top of that, the special LA event will serve as the first place to see the debut episode in the new animated World of Warcraft mini-series called Lords of War. The event itself is being held at the Theatre at Ace Hotel, a really epic-looking entertainment venue with a capacity of 1,600. If you attend the event in-person (even if you don't get in), you'll receive a beta key for Warlords of Draenor. People 12 years of age or under need to be accompanied by an adult.<br /><br />Warlords of Draenor is World of Warcraft's fifth expansion, following The Burning Crusade (2007), Wrath of the Lich King (2008), Cataclysm (2010), and Mists of Pandaria (2012). The expansion introduces new zones and raises the level cap to 100. It also comes with an instant character boost to level 90, which you can unlock right now by pre-purchasing the expansion.

That's according to the creator of the project, Chris Roberts, who says he thinks traditional publishers would have never gotten behind a project like Star Citizen.<br /><br />"If I had gone up to any publisher and said, 'Hey, will you give me $50 million to do a space sim on PC only?' everyone would say, 'Get out of here,'" Roberts told The Verge in an interview publisher today. "But we're in a situation where we're getting to do that."<br /><br />If funding for Star Citizen continues at its current pace of $1 million every three weeks, the game should reach $50 million by the end of the month. More than half a million people have contributed to the campaign so far. Star Citizen is the most successful crowdfunded project of any kind in history. The most-funded Kickstarter project ever was the Pebble Watch, which attracted $10.2 million.<br /><br />Though Roberts does not have a publisher to report to, that does not mean he's just breezing through development, feeling no pressure at all. "The biggest amount of pressure comes from myself," Roberts said. "I can see this game. I've got a very clear picture of what I want it to be, and I get frustrated when we're not moving as quickly as I want us to move. I want it to be the best thing I've ever played."<br /><br />Overall, Roberts said he expects Star Citizen's focus on detail to be what will set the game apart from the competition. "For me, it's all about feeling like I'm in the world," Roberts said. "There's an attention to detail you need to suspend that disbelief and for me that is the motto of Star Citizen. We're going for that extra level of detail, so there's a real tactile sense to your environment. It feels like it's lived in."<br /><br />Star Citizen, developed by Roberts and his studio, Cloud Imperium Games, is expected to launch in 2015, and support for virtual reality is planned. There have been many survival and crafting games since Minecraft exploded in popularity. Wonderstruck Games, composed of ex-Lionhead and EA developers, has decided to join the trend and is making a sandbox survival game called Oort Online. But where Minecraft worlds are limited, Wonderstruck promises that the Oort Online universe is expansive, populated by many players all working to craft materials and survive.<br />

Wonderstruck describes the game on its website as "a massively multiplayer game set in a sandbox universe of connected voxel worlds." In other words, it's an open-world MMO with a 3D pixel-art style. Players are tasked with discovering resources, exploring, and fighting the Protectors, a mysterious race of creatures who inhabit Oort's worlds. If you gather enough resources, you can build portals which take you to different, potentially rewarding places.<br />

The website also emphasizes player interactions and how alliances and commerce will emerge. Exploration also seems to be geared toward bringing players together, and hints at the same sort of alliances and wars between players that appear in the multiplayer survival game, Rust. "Travel to different worlds and survive in a new environment with real players and challenges," the website states. "Stockpile abundant resources from your world and trade them with players in other worlds."<br />

Of course, a lot of the game focuses on crafting and building. In order to prevent people from potentially destroying other players' creations, Wonderstruck has created Beacons. Each player is given a certain number of these, which allow you to claim land and determine who can and cannot enter. Once you own land, all of the resources contained within are yours, and you can set up shop and sell your wares. In the style of EVE Online, players will be able to set up their own businesses to try to make money off of the loot and supplies they collect.<br />

Oort Online is being crowdfunded through its website and it is following a similar development pattern toStar Citizen. If you pay $95, you can get access to the game's prototype build right now. As funding increases, the developer will gradually add more and more features, growing the game over the course of its life cycle. The campaign has made over $22,000 at the time of this writing.<br />
<br />
Wonderstruck is currently targeting late 2015 for a release of the game through distribution platforms such as Steam. It is currently only planned for a PC release, although the developer is considering moving to mobile devices later. Right now, you can reserve a launch copy for $15, beta access for $25, and alpha access for $50. The alpha is tentatively scheduled for early 2015 and the beta for mid 2015.<br />
<br />
The studio has also worked on two other games: Polycraft, a tower defense game, and The Marvelous Miss Take, a "streamlined stealth game," according to its website. You can play Polycraft for free here.<br />

Nintendo's live stream to reveal more information on upcoming Dynasty Warriors and The Legend of Zelda crossover.<br /><br />Nintendo will be announcing more details surrounding its upcoming hack and slash game Hyrule Warriors in today's Nintendo Direct. The livestream will begin in 2 hours from now, at 8PM PT/11PM ET. GameSpot will be updating this story as the live stream progresses, so be sure to stay tuned for more details as they are announced.<br /><br />Hyrule Warriors is being developed by Omega Force and Team Ninja for the Wii U. The game is similar to that of Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warrior series, but draws upon The Legend of Zelda universe for its setting and characters. The game also features a local co-op mode where one person can play on the TV and the other on the Wii U Gamepad's screen.<br /><br />Hyrule Warriors will launch in Japan on August 14, Europe on September 19, Australia on September 20, and North America on September 26. <b>The challenge was issued by Jennifer Ann’s Group, an organisation that aims to increase awareness about teen dating violence by encouraging video game developers to create games that will appeal to students for self-paced exploration of the issues surrounding dating abuse. The competition has been running since 2008 and the 2013 winner is a quirky narrative driven experience that has the player dealing with the ups and down of high school dating. While some games have tackled the issue of violence, notable examples include the recent Tomb Raider incarnation and the investigative thriller Heavy Rain, having to address it without using violence is a tough design challenge. This years winner has overcome the challenge where its charming lo-fi cut-out graphics meet the small dramas of everyday life. As a player, I found it an interesting emotional experience to be told off by the very character you’re trying to attract in the game, for not being ‘hot enough’. Your happiness suffers in the game-world as your confidence takes a dive. This is apparent in the motivation of the developer, Jean Hehn, who remarked, “Serious games can tend to be too preachy or too obviously trying to teach you something, I wanted to make sure ‘<a href="http://bit.ly/LoveDumpster" style="border: 0px; color: #444444; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Love in the Dumpster</a>‘ would feel like a game while still delivering the message efficiently. I tried to write an engaging story and dialogues and included two main characters (of both genders) to try and have people relate to them, and also show that both genders can be victims.”</b></div>

If you're a PS4 owner in either of those countries, you'll be able to pay to play certain PlayStation 3 games without ever downloading them or putting a physical disc in the system. Even with so many new users about to begin using it in less than a day, there remain numerous questions about Now and how it'll work--questions Sony continues to avoid providing answers to.<br /><br />GameSpot recently spoke with PlayStation Now senior director Jack Buser and Gaikai senior VP Robert Stevenson about the service, which they are happy to note is the first of its kind on consoles. Sony says more than 50 publishers have signed on to offer their games through Now, although an exact list of games planned for it has not been made available. (More will be added "all the time," according to Buser.) The company still won't give exact numbers for how much data you can expect Now to use--a real issue for those in dorms or with ISPs that have data caps--but Stevenson says, "You can think of it [as] very comparable to movie streaming. It's not exactly the same, but it's similar." We'd previously heard you will need a 5 megabits-per-second connection for a "good experience."<br /><br />A closed beta that's been running since earlier this year has provided Sony with a lot of data to work with--more than 300,000 hours have been streamed so far--that it's already used to improve Now. "Some areas we've really focused on have been in the [user experience], making sure that users really understand the service as we go into open beta," Stevenson says. The Now beta has been using its own dedicated app, but the PlayStation Store itself will become the home for the service as it enters open beta, which presents new challenges. Sony has changed the messaging it uses and tried to ensure people aren't confused when they go to rent a game.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Stevenson also highlighted the addition of cloud saves partway through the closed beta, which allow users to save their game and then resume it on another device at a later time. There are also plans for a new $1.99 price option for certain rentals that is $1 less than thelowest price we've previously heard about. And Sony will make it clearer when streaming games offer DLC, which is said to be part of the reason why rentals during the closed beta could be more expensive than buying a brand-new physical copy.<br /><br />These kinds of refinements are to be expected, and are no doubt critical to Now achieving a real degree of success. But just as important are many of the issues gamers have been wondering about since Now was announced in January: How will a subscription option work, and when will see one? Can I get free or discounted access to games that I can verify I already own (reportedly the answer is no)? Who is this for? Unfortunately, neither Buser nor Stevenson were willing to provide us with the kinds of answers we were looking for.<br /><br /><br />"I think, ultimately, you look to this vision of expanding to a wide number of devices and you can imagine that there is this very rich catalog of PlayStation 3 games available to them." -- Jack Buser<br /><br />Repeatedly describing the service as being in "early days," the two shied away from answering questions about the particulars of a subscription option. Sony is aware of the interest in such an option, and Stevenson says it's "researching exactly how to deliver that. We've got some really strong ideas, but nothing to disclose today in terms of timeline or pricing or anything of that sort."<br /><br />Fair enough, but how about the way Now will deal with users who own a supported game and would like to stream it to their PS4? "[We have] nothing to discuss at this time," Buser says. "As I mentioned, we are going into open beta on PS4. It will be a rental offering, you'll see a variety of different durations, and, again, a variety of different price points. You'll see durations as short as four hours for an evening of fun--something where maybe you maybe want to come in and just check out a game--you'll see longer durations, like 30 days, 90 days. And Robert talked a lot about the cloud save feature, where you can try out a game for a short duration, save your game to our cloud servers, decide you want to continue playing, rent for a longer duration, and pick up where you left off.<br /><br />"You know, this is a beta, we are listening to our customers, and if customers want to see features or functions as part of PlayStation Now, they should feel free to let us know. And we'll be collecting that feedback as part of this open beta process."</b>

<b>Sony's Game and Network Services division posts $41.8m in profit, a 96 percent increase on the same period last year.<br /><br />Strong sales of the PlayStation 4 have helped Sony reach a better-than-expected profit during the quarter ended 30th June, the company reported today.<br /><br />Sony's Game and Network Services division--of which PlayStation is a part--posted a profit of 4.3 billion yen ($41.8m, £24.7m), compared with a loss of 16.4 billion yen a year earlier. That's an impressive 96 percent increase on the same period last year.<br /><br />Overall, net profit was 25.7bn yen ($249.8m, £148m), up from 3.1bn yen a year ago.<br /><br />Sony attributed its successful financials to strong sales of the PS4, as well as a "significant increase" in network services revenues (which includes PlayStation Plus). Sony Pictures also helped boost the financials, posting a profit of 7.8 billion yen ($75.9m, £44.9m) compared with earnings of 3.7 ($35.9m, £21.3m) billion yen a year earlier.<br /><br />While Sony didn't break out individual sales figures for its consoles, combined, 3.5m PS3sand PS4s were shipped during the quarter. This compares favourably to the 1.1m combined Xbox One and Xbox 360 units Microsoft shipped during the same quarter.<br /><br />Combined, the PSP, PS TV, and Vita shipped 750,000 units, which is up on the 600,000 reported last year. 85m games were sold during the quarter, up from 68m.<br /><br />Despite all the good news, Sony still expects to post a net loss of 50bn yen ($486, £287.5m) for the financial year through March 2015.</b><div>

<b>Sony's much-anticipated game streaming service, PlayStation Now, is now available through a public beta in the United States and Canada for the PlayStation 4. The service has been in closed beta since January, and will come to other platforms and regions sometime in the future.<br /><br />To help get you up to speed on everything the PlayStation Now beta has to offer, Sony released a walkthrough video featuring commentary from Jack Buser, who is senior director for the service. More than 100 games are available through PlayStation Now currently, and you can rent them for a variety of durations (as short as four hours) and for a range of prices (as low as $1.99).<br /><br />If you rent a game and then want to purchase the full product later on, your progress will be saved through Sony's cloud servers, allowing you to pick up where you left off.<br /><br />The first thing you'll want to do when you fire up the PlayStation Now beta (available in the PlayStation Store on PS4) is access the "Connection Test." This will determine if your broadband connection is beefy enough to run PlayStation Now and get good results. Sony recommends at least a 5Mbps connection for an optimal experience on PlayStation Now.<br /><br />PlayStation Now supports both wired and wireless connection types, but Buser says a wired connection is preferable because it is often more stable than wireless.<br /><br />In addition, Buser stressed that the PlayStation Now beta you see today is just that, a beta. It's "early days," he says, adding that it is important that users share feedback with Sony so they can make the product better in the long run. "We're going to be listening closely to what the gamers tell us, and [PlayStation Now] will evolve over time."<br /><br />Though you will only find a la carte rental options on PlayStation Now today, Buserreiterated that Sony is planning to offer a Netflix-style subscription plan sometime in the future. "It's definitely something [that's] in the works. In a post to the company’s website, Facepunch developer Adam Woolridge explained that in addition to traditional twin stick shooter gameplay you see in games like Geometry Wars or Renegade Ops, Riftlight will have loot, character levels, abilities, and talent trees.</div>

Finally, the Melee class will have a close range energy beam that gets bigger the more damage you deal with it, and shrinks down as you stop attacking.</div>
